Damian Trilling is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Communication Science and affiliated with the Amsterdam School of Communication Research.
Researchwise, he is interested in questions of news use and news exposure. How does the news ecosystem change, how do people follow the news, and how do the relationships between media, politics, and citizens change?
From a methodological point of view, Damian is interested in automated content analysis and the integration of approaches from computer science and computational linguistics in communication science. He regularly teaches courses in which social scientists learn how to use the Python programming language to retrieve and analyze social media data or data scraped from the web.
